How Glenn Creates Professional Demos
If you’re interested in how Glenn turns his original songs into professional-sounding demos, this page is for you. First and foremost, these songs are original. The songwriting is done without the aid of A.I. The lyrics, chord progressions, and melodies are written solely by Glenn unless a co-writer is specifically noted. Glenn documents the development of each song from its earliest stages, recording basic ideas, melodies, and lyrics using voice memos on his phone and keeping written notes as the song evolves.
Once a song is completed, Glenn records a detailed arrangement in his digital audio workstation (DAW) starting with programmed drums then adding live acoustic guitar , lead and background vocals. Depending on the song, he may also add electric and bass guitar, and programmed keyboards. At this point, the song is ready for the demo production process.
For the production of these demos, Glenn uses advanced music production technology, including the use of AI, as a creative production tool. This is an involved process that typically requires multiple song generations, careful listening, and numerous adjustments to achieve a production that best represents the character and vision of the song.
Once Glenn is satisfied with the production, he downloads the individual instrument and vocal tracks, commonly referred to as stems, and brings them into his DAW for further production. From there, he continues shaping the tracks by adding additional live performances, often background vocals and guitar to give the recording a more personal and organic feel. He then fine-tunes the individual tracks, adjusting levels, EQ, reverb, and other effects. Finally, Glenn produces the overall mix and masters the song to bring everything together into a polished, professional-sounding demo.
The result is a finished recording that combines Glenn's original songwriting and performances with today’s advanced music production technology—while staying true to the original vision of each song.
